Donald Trump just got another big endorsement.
Nevada Republican Governor Joe Lombardo endorsed Trump and said he plans on caucusing for him.
My News 4 reported:
Nevada Republican Governor Joe Lombardo said he’s endorsing Donald Trump and he plans to caucus for the former president on February 8.
Lombardo first made the announcement during an interview with the Nevada Independent on Thursday morning.
The first-term governor said he will vote for “none of these candidates” in the state’s presidential preference primary on February 6 and caucus for the former president during the state’s GOP caucus two days later.
“We need President Trump’s decisive leadership back in Washington, D.C. President Trump oversaw record economic success, implemented strong foreign policy, and ensured our law enforcement officers are treated with the respect they deserve.”
Trump endorsed Lombardo in 2022.
AP News reported:
Trump had endorsed Lombardo during the former sheriff’s 2022 run for governor, which helped him emerge from a crowded GOP field to win the primary. Lombardo tried to distance himself from the former president during a debate in the general election, before calling him the “the greatest president” during a rally the following week.
Lombardo had steadily rebuked Trump’s false claims of a stolen 2020 election.
Lombardo told The Nevada Independent that he will caucus for Trump on Feb. 8 and write-in “none of the above” in the presidential preference primary on Feb. 6.
